On Wednesday (November 22, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon and the shear line will affect the country’s weather conditions.

The shear line will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Visayas, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Quezon, and Zamboanga Peninsula. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley and Aurora.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have generally fair weather with possible isolated light rains due to Amihan. Isolated thunderstorms are forecast over the rest of Mindanao during the afternoon or evening.

“Inaasahan natin na posible po na hihina iyong amihan sa mga susunod na araw kaya posibleng mabawasan ang nararanasang mga pag-ulan na dulot ng shearline,” Badrina said.

The coastal water condition over Luzon will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.

The weather agency has raised a gale warning in the following areas:

  • Batanes
  • Ilocos Norte
  • Ilocos Sur
  • Cagayan
  • Isabela
  • Aurora
  • Northern coast of Quezon, including the Polillo Islands
  • Calaguas Islands
  • Rapu-Rapu, Albay
