PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Saturday (November 18, 2023)

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that a low-pressure area, shear line, and amihan will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Saturday (November 18, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Three weather systems will affect the country’s weather conditions.

The shear line will be affecting the eastern section of the Visayas while the northeast monsoon will affect Luzon, according to Weather Specialist Daniel James E. Villamil.

PAGASA

A low-pressure area was spotted 605 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar. Its trough will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and the Davao Region.

Flash floods or landslides are possible due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

“Nanatiling maliit ang tsansa ng nasabing low-pressure area na maging isang ganap na bagyo sa mga sumusunod na araw, gayon pa man dahi lsa pinagsamang epekto nitong LPA at nitong shear line makakaranans pa rin tayo ng mga pag-ulan sa malaking bahagi ng bansa,” Villamil said.

PAGASA

The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley and the Bicol Region.

Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila. The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over the remaining parts of Mindanao.

“And for the rest of Mindanao ay generally fair weather condition pa rin ang ating mararanasan maliban na lamang sa tsansa ng mga rainshowers o localized thunderstorms,” he added.
