Michelle Dee Receives Overwhelming Support For Miss Universe Prelims

Supporters of Michelle Dee are optimistic that she will bring home the crown

Filipina beauty queen Michelle Dee received overwhelming support for the Miss Universe 2023 preliminary competition.

Michelle has been preparing intensely to bring the fifth Miss Universe crown for the Philippines following the victory of Filipina representatives Gloria Diaz, Margie Moran, Pia Wurtzbach, and Catriona Gray.

Prior to the preliminary competition on November 16 (PH time), a closed-door interview was held. Through this, the panel of judges, including Filipino-American physician Connie Mariano, who served three US Presidents.

Previously, Michelle Dee shared that Mark Bumgarner designed her gown for the finals. She did not elaborate on this but highlighted that it will feature something close to Filipinos’ hearts.

For the preliminary competition, fans have yet to see her gown. The prelims include the swimsuit and gown competitions.

Before the show started, ABS-CBN correspondent Dyan Castillejo was able to talk to some of Michelle’s supporters, including Miss Universe Philippines Creative and Events Director Jonas Gaffud.

Their group brought with them a Philippine flag and they wore green outfits. Gaffud said that this is Michelle’s lucky color.

They also believed that the Filipina beauty queen would bring home the fifth Miss Universe crown for the Philippines and that they look forward to her crowning moment.

In the comment section of this post that ABS-CBN News shared on Facebook, many Pinoy pageant fans also showed support for Michelle Dee. They said good luck to her and the Philippines and expressed that they were praying for her victory.

Miss Universe 2023 coronation night will be on November 19 (PH Time) and the all-female host lineup will once again feature Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo with Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray as one of the backstage correspondents.

The National Costume Competition is set to be held on November 17, at 10 AM (PH Time).
