PAG-IBIG DEATH CLAIM REQUIREMENTS – Here are the documents that the beneficiaries of the deceased married member with child/children must submit.
Millions of people who are employed in the private and public sector in the Philippines are members of the Pag-IBIG Fund. There are also a lot of individuals from other fields who applied for a voluntary membershhip to the government agency.
The Pag-IBIG Fund is most popular for its Housing Loan offer but it has at least three (3) major loans that members may apply for. Here are the offers:
- Pag-IBIG Multi-Purpose Loan — Also called the MPL, the Pag-IBIG Multi-Purpose Loan is the cash loan offer that is open for members who have posted at least twenty-four (24) monthly membership savings under the Pag-IBIG Regular Savings program.
- Pag-IBIG Housing Loan — The most popular offer of the Fund, the Housing Loan is open for several purposes and can be extended to up to 30 years. It can finance any of the following purposes:
- purchase of a residential property (house and lot, condominium unit, townhouse, apartment)
- acquisition of a vacant lot
- house construction
- home renovation
- home loan take-out from another lender
- combined purpose
- Pag-IBIG Calamity Loan — This loan offer is the one that members can turn-to in times of natural calamities.
To qualify for the Pag-IBIG loans offers for members, a member must have an updated account to the government agency. It can be done by regularly posting monthly savings based on the Pag-IBIG Contribution Table 2023.
Some members of the Fund are under a mandatory membership while others voluntarily applied for a membership to the government agency. Most often, a mandatory membership is required for/in the following:
- employees in the private sector who are 60 years old and below and on permanent, temporary, or provisional status
- government employees with GSIS coverage
- self-employed individuals earning at least P1,000 per month up to 60 years of age
- land-based overseas Filipino workers (OFWs)
- sea-based OFWs
- household helpers, gardeners, cooks, drivers, etc. with a salary of at least P1,000 per month
- Filipinos employed by foreign-based employers
- uniformed personnel like members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)
Here are the common cases of voluntary memberships to the Fund:
- non-working spouse of registered members of the Pag-IBIG Fund
- religious group and leaders
- public officials and employees without GSIS coverage
- pensioners, investors, and individuals with passive income
- Filipino employees of foreign government or international organization
After 20 years of posting contributions, a member may take the optional withdrawal of his/her savings. The Pag-IBIG monthly contributions may also be withdrawn on certain cases like the death of the member.
The beneficiaries of the deceased member may apply for a claim. There are Pag-IBIG Death Claim requirements that must be submitted to the Fund.
In the case of deceased married members with child/children, here are the Pag-IBIG Death Claim requirements:
- Application for Provident Benefits (APB) Claim (1 Original)
- Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card/Loyalty Card Plus or one (1) valid ID of the claimant (1 Photocopy)
- Death Certificate of Member issued by PSA/NSO or LCRO (1 Photocopy)
- SSS Employment History (as applicable) (1 Photocopy)
- Proof of Surviving Legal Heirs (HQP-PFF-030) (1 Original)
- Declaration of Guardianship (HQP-PFF-028) (if with child/children below 18 years old, or of the child/children is/are physically or mentally
incompetent) (1 Original) - To establish kinship with the member, the claimant shall submit the following:
- Marriage Certificate issued by PSA/NSO or LCRO and Advisory on Marriage issued by PSA/NSO of the member (1 Photocopy)
- Birth Certificate issued by PSA/NSO or LCRO or Baptismal Certificate of the child/children (1 Photocopy);
Submit the Pag-IBIG Death Claim requirements to a branch of the Pag-IBIG Fund nearest to you. The processing may take a few working days. Wait for a call from the government agency.
