PAGASA Says Amihan and Shear Line to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that Amihan and Shear Line will bring rain over parts of Luzon.
On Saturday (October 21, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon and shear line will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon will be affecting Northern Luzon while the shear line will affect the weather conditions over Central Luzon.
“Kasalukuyan, nakakaranas po tayo ng mga kalat-kalat na pag-ulan sa malaking bahagi ng Luzon kasama ang Metro Manila dulot ng northeast monsoon at shear line,” weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.
The shear line will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and CALABARZON. Amihan will bring similar weather condition over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, and Kalinga.
Flash floods or landslides are possible in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region, the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley.
“Samantala, itong nalalabing bahagi ng Luzon at kasama na rin po ang buong kabisayaan at Mindanao ay magiging maganda at maaliwas ang panahon maliban sa mga isolated nap ag-ulan,” he continued.

The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over the remaining parts of the country. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.
“At sa mga nagbabalak pong pumalaot o mangisda mag-ingat po tayo lalo na po sa mga baybaying dagat sa Northern Luzon, dahil ngayong araw makakaranan po ng katamtaman hanggang sa maalong karagatan,” Aurelio added.
