“For about ten years now, it [has been] our tradition to make Halloween decorations. Also, my mother hosts free Halloween parties po for the kids in our village,” she said.

In previous years, the family purchased ready-made decorations to set the spooky ambiance for their Halloween parties. However, for the last three years, Shandi decided to create her own unique decorations using recycled materials.

The 33-year-old artist shared that this year’s Halloween party will be hosted at their home on November 2, 2023. The artistic journey to craft these terrifying figures is an art in itself and shows her dedication to making an unforgettable Halloween experience.

Shandi created a scary sculpture of “Undin.” She explained that she utilized recyclable materials for her “Paper Mache Art.”

“Undin is made out of recyclable materials po, using newspapers, wire, glue and disposable spoon for the eyes. Nasa 3 weeks to 1 month po bago natapos, hindi kasi continuous sa paggawa,” the artist said.

Apart from the spooky Undin, she has also created other iconic horror characters, such as the creepy figures of Sadako and Pennywise.
