GENEROUS ACT – A boutique owner earns praise from the online community for giving a free bag to a young vegetable vendor.
Cyril Johnson, a TikTok user and owner of Fashion Boutique Center Island in San Francisco, Agusan del Sur touched the hearts of the online community by displaying a heartwarming gesture to a young girl.
The video shows the encounter between her and a young vegetable vendor. As the young girl stopped by her boutique to offer vegetables, she inquired if there were any affordable bags available for sale.
The girl was concerned about the price and explained that she would need to save up to afford one.
“Palagi ko siyang nakikitang dumadaan sa shop ko. One time pumasok siya kasi bumili ako ng gulay, nagtanong siya kung may mura ba kaming bag. Sabi ko ‘yong corduroy ₱350 pero i-₱300 ko na lang. Sabi niya pag-ipunan daw niya. After couple of days bumalik siya at tinatanong kung anjan pa ba ‘yong bag,” Cyril said.
With empathy in her heart, Cyril decided to give the corduroy bag the young girl admired for free.
“Naisipan ko na if babalik siya ibibigay ko na lang ‘yong bag kasi alam kong matagal-tagal pa niya ‘yong pag-ipunan. Tag-₱20 lang kasi ‘yong gulay na binebenta niya. The next day inaantay ko ‘yong pagbalik niya at nasa labas lang siya kasi ang lakas ng ulan at habang nag-antay ng bayad ng binili kong gulay. Dala-dala ko na ‘yong bag,” she added.
Over the following days, the girl introduced Cyril to her sister, who also sold produce in their local market.
Johnson couldn’t have expected the overwhelming response her video would receive.
