PAGASA Says Northeasterly Surface Windflow to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that Northeasterly Surface Windflow will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Tuesday (October 17, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeasterly surface windflow will affect the country’s weather conditions.

The low-pressure area outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility will no longer affect the country’s weather conditions, according to state weather specialist Grace Castañeda.

PAGASA

“‘Yung LPA sa labas ng ating area of responsibility, sa kanluran ‘yan ng Luzon, itong LPA na ito maging ‘’yung trough nito ay wala nang idinudulot na pag-ulan sa ano mang bahagi ng ating bansa,” Castañeda said.

PAGASA reported that northeasterly surface windflow will bring cloudy skies with rains over parts of Northern Luzon. It will bring cloudy skies with rains over Batanes, Cagayan, and Isabela.

The weather agency has warned the residents in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms are expected over the Bicol region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon.

The Northeasterly Surface Windflow / Localized Thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over the entire Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Flash floods or landslides are possible in these areas during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern and Central Luzon will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.
