Man in North Cotabato Starts to Display Unusual Behavior After Alleged Encounter w/ Aswang
MAKILALA, NORTH COTABATO – A man reportedly displayed unusual behavior after allegedly having an encounter with ‘aswang’.
Last month, a viral video showed chaos in a barangay in Makilala, North Cotabato, as residents grappled with a man believed to have been possessed by the “bertud” of an alleged aswang or wakwak.
Recently, the GMA show “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” (KMJS)” featured the actual footage of the commotion in the area during the late hours of the night. Jay Darantinao, the man on the roof, was seen screaming with his eyes ablaze.

Due to his unpredictable behavior, the residents eventually subdued him and tied him up. According to some witnesses, Jay exhibited extraordinary strength, drooled excessively, and even made sounds resembling a ‘wakwak’.
Jay shared that their neighborhood experienced a sudden power outage, and a neighbor sought his help. There was said to be a wakwak targeting an infant in their area. He claimed to have encountered an elderly woman who he believed to be an aswang.
Darantinao recounted that he began feeling strange on his way home, which led to his abnormal actions.
Panicked residents called for an albularyo, who applied oil and a concoction to the man. After a few moments, a dark substance reportedly came out from Jay’s mouth, along with a small stone-like object.

The healers retrieved the object and burned it as part of their ritual. However, it was still unclear if the small stone-like object had been the vessel for the alleged aswang’s bertud or spiritual power?
