Frankie Pangilinan appeared to express her support for Pura Luka Vega after he was arrested, exclaiming, “Drag is not a Crime”.

The Filipino Amadeus Fernando Pagante known as Pura Luka Vega was arrested and detained at the Manila Police District Station 3 on Wednesday (October 4, 2023).

The drag artist was arrested for committing offenses such as immoral doctrines, obscene publications, exhibitions, and indecent shows filed by Hijos del Nazareno, devotees of the Black Nazarene.

Pagante reportedly violated the Revised Penal Code Article 201 and attacked the religious beliefs of the devotees. The bail is set to P72,000. Manila Luzon calls out donations for the internet personality.

Recently, Frankie Pangilinan, the daughter of Senator Francis Pangilinan and iconic actress Sharon Cuneta, shared a social card that carried a bold message: “Drag is not a crime.” However, she didn’t explicitly state her stance on the matter.

Kakie’s social card not only carried the powerful message that “drag is not a crime” but also contained allegations about the circumstances surrounding Pura Luka Vega’s arrest. It claimed that Vega had not received a subpoena for the preliminary investigations in Manila.

“Pura Luka Vega was arrested this afternoon (October 4, 2023), After failing to attend the preliminary investigations of the criminal case filed against them in Manila. There was no subpoena received by PLV or their team for the preliminary investigations in Manila,” the statement reads.
