Guide on How to Update the SSS Monthly Contribution for Local Employees
HOW TO UPDATE SSS MONTHLY CONTRIBUTION – You can check this guide in updating the SSS monthly contribution if you are a locally employed member.
Are you wondering if members of the Social Security System (SSS) are allowed to make adjustments on their monthly contributions? The answer is yes. However, there are points that you must remember.

Members of the Social Security System submit monthly contributions to the state-run social insurance agency. Specific number of contributions are often part of the eligibility requirements in availing the SSS loans, benefits, and other offers of the state-run social insurance agency.
In many cases, SSS members increase their monthly contributions in the pursuit to secure a bigger retirement fund when old age comes. Are you planning to do the same? You can check the details below.

A member of the Social Security System may update or change his/her SSS monthly contribution but there are different processes among the members. While the self-employed, voluntary, overseas Filipino worker (OFW), and non-working spouse members may easily update the contributions, the case is not the same with locally employed members.
In the case of SSS members who are local employees, the update of the monthly contribution is possible but it should be updated by the employer. It must be made before the posting of the monthly contribution of the member-employee.
Here’s how the employer can update the SSS Monthly Contribution of a locally-employed member:
- Log In to the My.SSS Employer Account
- Click “Payment Reference Number” on the main menu.
- Cancel the existing Electronic Contribution Collection List or E-CCL
- Enter the reason for the cancellation of the E-CCL
- Select Collection List Details
- Edit the monthly salary of the employee
- Click “Prepare Collection List” to generate a new “Electronic Contribution Collection List”
- Download or print the Updated E-CCL then Proceed to the payment using the PR
While changing the monthly contribution by themselves is not for local employees who are members of the SSS, there are other members who can do it easily as per the SSS Circular No. 2015-007.
