PAGASA Says LPA and Habagat to Bring Rain Over Parts of the Country

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that a trough of a low-pressure area and habagat will bring rain over parts of the country.

On Friday (September 29, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The LPA’s trough and the southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that a trough of a low-pressure area will be affecting the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao. The southwest monsoon will be affecting the western sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas.

The LPAs trough will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas and Central Visayas. Habagat will bring similar weather conditions over Palawan, Zamboanga Peninsula, and the rest of Visayas.

The Trough of LPA / Localized Thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Occidental Mindoro, Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Metro Manila, and the rest of the country.

The weather agency has warned the public of possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

“Asahan ang mga isolated na pag-ulan o biglaang buhos ng pag-ulan. Katulad po kahapon, nakaranas tayo ng matinding pag-ulan dito sa Metro Manila,” Aurelio added.

The coastal water condition over Northern Luzon, the eastern sections of Central, Southern Luzon, the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
