OCTOBER 2023 HOLIDAYS IN THE PHILIPPINES – Are you wondering if there are holidays and special non-working days next month?
There are several holidays in the Philippines every year. These includes the two (2) main types of holidays which are the regular holiday and the special non-working day. The former is the type of holiday that is held every year. They are usually for the commemoration of a person or event that played a significant role in the country’s history.

Regular holidays are marked red in the Philippine calendar. There is at least one (1) regular holiday in most of the months in a year. During these days, classes in schools and work in most offices are suspended.

There are programs held in line with the holiday celebrations. For employees who have to report to work on a regular holiday, they receive holiday benefits for employees that is an additional pay equivalent to 100% of their basic salary rate. It is on top of their wage for the day.
In a lot of cases, families and friends father together on a regular holiday and spend some time vacationing or simply enjoying lunch at a certain place. This type of holiday is an opportunity to catch with families and friends most especially for busy individuals.
With regards to the special non-working days, employees who report to work on a special non-working day receives an additional pay that is equivalent to 30% of the worker’s daily salary rate. The question is, are there October 2023 holidays in the Philippines?
Based on the full list of holidays, there are no October 2023 holidays in the Philippines in terms of both regular holidays and special non-working days. Here is the list of the regular holidays in the country this year:

- Maundy Thursday – April 6
- Good Friday – April 7
- Labor Day – May 1 (Monday)
- Independence Day – June 12 (Monday)
- National Heroes Day – August 28 (last Monday of August)
- Bonifacio Day – November 27 (Monday nearest November 30)
- Christmas Day – December 25 (Monday)
- Rizal Day – December 30 (Saturday)
With regards to the list of the special non-working days, the list is flexible depending on announcements from the Palace. Here is a list of the special non-working days in the Philippines this year:
- EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary – February 25 (Saturday)
- Black Saturday – April 8
- Ninoy Aquino Day – August 21 (Monday)
- All Saints’ Day – November 1 (Wednesday)
- Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary – December 8 (Friday)
- Last Day of the Year – December 31 (Sunday)
- Addition special non-working days:
- January 2 (Monday)
- November 2 (Thursday)
