Lala Sotto Involved In Case vs Vice, Ion? MTRCB Chair Reacts

Lala Sotto reacted to the allegation that she had something to do with the case against Vice and Ion

The Kapisanan ng Social Media Broadcasters ng Pilipinas, Inc. (KSMBPI) filed crimnal charges against Vice Ganda and Ion Perez, and allegedly, Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) chair Lala Sotto is involved in this.

Several groups aired their criticism against the celebrity couple following their icing incident that went viral. However, there were also those who rallied behind the couple and It’s Showtime hosts.

One of the groups that did not like the supposed “naughty” action that Vice and Ion had while eating the cake icing was the KSMBPI.

The social media broadcaster group filed criminal charges against the couple. Once again, Vice and Ion received polarizing comments on social media regarding this new issue about them.

Following the filing of the case, allegation surfaced that Chair Lala Sotto had something to do with it. The allegation came from the fact that the daughter of Tito Sotto met with KSMBPI before the group filed a case against Vice Ganda and Ion Perez.

Based on the article in Inquirer, Chair Sotto addressed the speculations about the said meeting with the social media broadcasters group.

“The purpose of this visit was to express their support for our efforts in monitoring film and TV broadcasts, recognizing that the MTRCB operates as a small agency with limited manpower. Thus, the MTRCB welcomes their expression of support on ensuring responsible and quality content in the entertainment industry in line with our mandates under PD 1986,” the MTRCB Chair said in a statement.

She added that the KSMBPI assured that the groups decision to file charges against Vice Ganda and Ion Perez has nothing to with MTRCB. Chair Sotto also encouraged the public not to maliciously interpret the photo she had with the social media broadcasters group.
