The national government of Taiwan offers a Visitor Visa, Business Visa, Family Visit Visa, Medical Treatment Visa, Employment-Seeking Visa, and Visa for attendance to academic, social, and cultural events. The requirements for Taiwan visa application depends on the purpose of visit to the foreign country.
Below, you can check the specific documents that you need to submit in applying for a travel visa to Taiwan. The requirements for Taiwan visa application must be presented in original copies:
For Tourist / Visitor Visa
- duly-accomplished Taiwan Visa Application Form
- original passport
- with a validity of at least six more months after the date of arrival
- with at least three blank pages
- passport-size picture, 35mm by 45mm, with a white background
- travel itinerary/travel ticket
- proof of accommodation in Taiwan, such as a hotel reservation, letter of invitation from your host, etc.
- proof of sufficient financial means
- employment status documents like a letter from your employer
- Taiwan visa fee
For Business Visa
- duly-accomplished Taiwan Visa Application Form
- original passport
- with a validity of at least six more months after the date of arrival
- with at least three blank pages
- passport-size picture, 35mm by 45mm, with a white background
- travel itinerary/travel ticket
- proof of accommodation in Taiwan, such as a hotel reservation, letter of invitation from your host, etc.
- proof of sufficient financial means
- employment status documents
- Taiwan visa fee
- Proof you are traveling for business
- letter from your company
- letter of Invitation from the Taiwanese company
- proof of correspondence or prior relations between the two companies
- Details of your contact in Taiwan
- Letter of Guarantee for Visa Application to the Republic of China, stamped by the company of your guarantor
- Letter from your guarantor explaining your relationship and detailing your itinerary while in Taiwan
- Registration documents or the amendment of business registration document
For Family Visit Visa
- duly-accomplished Taiwan Visa Application Form
- original passport
- with a validity of at least six more months after the date of arrival
- with at least three blank pages
- passport-size picture, 35mm by 45mm, with a white background
- travel itinerary/travel ticket
- proof of accommodation in Taiwan, such as a hotel reservation, letter of invitation from your host, etc.

- Proof of your host’s residence in Taiwan
- Household Registration issued within the last three months
- Alien Residence Certificate or Permanent Residence Certificate
- Proof of relationship

For Medical Treatment Visa
- duly-accomplished Taiwan Visa Application Form
- original passport
- with a validity of at least six more months after the date of arrival

- proof of accommodation in Taiwan, such as a hotel reservation, letter of invitation from your host, etc.

- Letter from your current medical care provider, stating your diagnosis
- Letter from the medical institution in Taiwan, detailing the medical treatment you will receive
For Employment-Seeking Visa
- duly-accomplished Taiwan Visa Application Form
- original passport
- with a validity of at least six more months after the date of arrival
- with at least three blank pages
- passport-size picture, 35mm by 45mm, with a white background
- travel itinerary/travel ticket
- proof of accommodation in Taiwan, such as a hotel reservation, letter of invitation from your host, etc.
- proof of sufficient financial means
- employment status documents
- Taiwan visa fee
- duly-accomplished and signed “Employment-Seeking VISA Application Checklist”
- Proof of health insurance for the time you will be in Taiwan
- Proof of any of the following:
- previous employment with a monthly salary which was at least NT$47,971
- graduated within the past year from one of the top 500 universities listed by the Taiwan Ministry of Education
- received approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
For Visa for Attendance to Academic, Social, Cultural Events
- duly-accomplished Taiwan Visa Application Form
- original passport
- with a validity of at least six more months after the date of arrival
- with at least three blank pages
- passport-size picture, 35mm by 45mm, with a white background
- travel itinerary/travel ticket
- proof of accommodation in Taiwan, such as a hotel reservation, letter of invitation from your host, etc.
- proof of sufficient financial means
- employment status documents
- Taiwan visa fee
- Letter of invitation from the conference/event you’ll be attending
- Letter of Approval issued by the relevant government agency for training courses attendance
- Letter of Approval issued by the Ministry of Labor in performing in an event
