Singer-songwriter Jose Mari Chan reacted to being a Christmas symbol in the Philippines for many years now.

Over the years, Jose Mari has always been remembered by Filipinos when “ber” months start. The Philippines has the longest holiday season. This starts in September and could last until January of the next year.

During the holiday season, Jose Mari is an important personality and it is because of his classic Christmas songs.

With all his hit holiday songs, he became a symbol of this season in the country. In a recent interview, based on the article in Inquirer, Jose Mari Chan shared his thoughts on the memes about him circulating before and during the holiday season.

He said that he is seeing those memes and is wondering who made them and who was behind them. The veteran singer is also aware that these surfaced about a decade ago.

Even though he does not know how these memes started, he is thankful that people recognize him as part of the Christmas celebration. “Thank you very much for making me one of the symbols of Philippine Christmas,” he said.

When asked what meme he would like to see himself in, he said, “I’d like to see a meme where I’m waking up early in the morning, there’s a parol sa (lantern hanging in the) window [then I’d say], ‘Wow! It’s Christmas!’”

Previously. Jose Mari shared how he wrote Christmas In Our Hearts. He shared that the melody was created back in 1988 after a college friend called him for the 25th anniversary of their class.

Although he created several songs for the holiday season, Jose Mari Chan said that his all-time favorite Christmas song is O Holy Night.
