Elderly Couple in Cebu Lost Cash & Valuables Worth P292, 000 to Riding in Tandem

TANDEM RIDER – A riding in tandem robbed an elderly couple in Barangay Tayud, Liloan, northern Cebu a total of P292,000.

On Tuesday evening (August 15, 2023), an elderly couple fell victim to an act of robbery by unidentified suspects who were riding a motorcycle in Barangay Tayud, Liloan, situated in the northern region of Cebu.

The elderly victims, Evenecer Lauresas Carnacer, 60, a native of Limasawa, Southern Leyte, and his wife, Florentina Hisoler Carnacer, 60, hailing from Samboan, Cebu, were returning to their home in Purok Gemilina 1 within Barangay Tayud when the incident happened.

The tandem rider approached the couple upon reaching their home. The suspect pointed a gun at the victims and declared a holdup. The suspects took the bag of senior citizen couple containing P70,000 cash, mobile phone, ATM card and jewelry collectively valued at approximately P222,000.

The thieves immediately fled the scene using a red motorcycle after securing their loot. The suspects disappeared into the streets of Liloan.

After the robbery incident, the local authorities, led by Police Senior Master Sergeant Jason Gayo, have launched an intensive follow-up investigation and are actively engaged in a pursuit operation to identify and apprehend the culprits.
