Joey de Leon is not yet over in stressing that they are the original
Henyo Master Joey de Leon said that not being original is “B O B O” and here is the reason behind his recent statement.
Joey is known for his witty play of words. He often shares puns on his social media posts as part of his signature humor. His recent posts talked about the fact that they cannot use the Eat Bulaga title for their show on TV5 because of some legality issues.
He has been pointing out that he was the one who created the title of the longest-running noontime show in the Philippines, and probably in the whole world.
Through his social media posts, he is attacking through his humor the noontime show, hosts, and people behind Eat Bulaga on GMA-7.
In an Instagram post on August 11, Joey de Leon shared a throwback photo. It was a photo of him with Vic Sotto, Tito Sotto, Richie D’Horsie, and Chiqui Hollman. They were the pioneer hosts of Eat Bulaga.
In the caption of his post, the Henyo Master talked about being original. “B O is Be Original. Pag dalawa na kayo, eh di B O B O na yung isa! [kissing face emoji],” Joey wrote.
In the comment section, netizens and solid fans of the original Eat Bulaga agreed with what Joey said. They pointed out that TVJ and the legit Dabarkads have the right to use the title that the Henyo Master created. Here are some of the comments.
Prior to this, the veteran showbiz personality shared a post about “fake.” “Isang sampal este, sample pala ng napapanahong kasabihan—-“FAKE EAT AND LIVE EAT!” Ngek! He, he…”Take it or leave it” yata!” he wrote.
Meanwhile, the camp of Joey de Leon, Vic Sotto, and Tito Sotto filed an unfair competition complaint against TAPE Inc, the production company behind Eat Bulaga and GMA-7 for airing old videos of the show with the TVJ without the latter’s permission.
