Tukomi Vloggers Imprisoned For Fake Kidnapping Vlog

The controversial fake kidnapping prank of Tukomi vloggers led to unexpected results.

The Davao City-based content creators known as the Tukomi vloggers face jail time following their fake kidnapping video.

Well-known social media content creator “Tukomi” also known as the Tukomi brothers previously went viral and controversial because of their content. In a previous article, they did a public disturbance that resulted in serious outcomes.

Tukomi did a fake kidnapping prank and it all went wrong.

The group is known for being pranksters but the kidnapping prank has gone overboard and they have pressed the wrong button while doing it. While in the middle of doing it, they met a real cop and what was supposed to be a “fun prank” almost cost their lives as the real cop has taken out a real gun and pointed it at them.

After the incident, the Philippine National Police (PNP) carefully studied some matters about it like closing down their accounts. The authorities have also thought about what charges should be filed against them.

And recently, as reported by DXVL 94.9 News and Public Affairs in a Facebook post, the vloggers have fallen behind in jail. Tukomi faces jail time because of their controversial content violating RPC Article 153.

This stated:

The penalty of arresto mayor in its medium period to prision correccional in its minimum period and a fine not exceeding 1,000 pesos shall be imposed upon any person who shall cause any serious disturbance in a public place, office, or establishment, or shall interrupt or disturb public performances, functions or gatherings, or peaceful meetings, if the act is not included in the provisions of Articles 131 and 132.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time Tukomi faced controversy because of their prank videos. Last year, they were criticized for doing the “Manghagis ng Itim na Bag ng Naka pang Arabo“. This has caught the attention of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF).

They were accused of stereotyping.
