You might have been to a lot of places but surely, there’s nothing like Baguio in the Philippines. This is called the “City of Pines” and “Summer Capital of the Philippines” of the country. It has a beauty incomparable that some tourists who have been here created memorable memories they ended up coming back to make for more.

Those who have already been to this place will surely say their visit is worth it. The beautiful views are best enjoyed with its cool climate and temperature. If you are a first-timer or not, these are the must-see places that should be on your itinerary.

  • Burnham Park
    A place where you can see Baguio in its candid state. This is the city’s “mother of all parks” named after urban planner Daniel Burnham. He was an American architect who designed the park. Attractions and activities here are Children’s Playground, Rose Garden, Orchidarium, Picnic Grove, and Igorot Garden.
  • Camp John Hay
    This is a famous attraction which was formerly a  rest and recreation facility for American soldiers. Activities such as Superman Ride (zipline), Tree Drop (harnessed free fall), and Canopy Ride can be availed here.

    This part offers the best view of the mountains such as the Cordillera Mountains and Benguet’s old copper and gold mines. Tourists may try traditional Ifugao garbs like bahag, vests, and headdresses for photo purposes. This is also a great spot to purchase souvenirs.
  • La Trinidad Strawberry Farms
    Strawberries are among the things that would first come to our minds when we say Baguio. Visiting the strawberry farms and experience picking them is something you should not miss. La Trinidad is just 30 minutes away from the town proper and hectares of strawberries are being grown here.
  • BenCab Museum
    This is the best spot to see contemporary Filipino art. Benedicto Cabrera is a Philippine National Artist and this museum serves as a home for different forms of art.
  • Baguio Night Market
    The night market will surely not fail you. It has everything you need from second-hand apparel such as clothes, bags, and footwear at affordable prices and the street food scene here is something you should try.
  • Tam-Awan Village
    This is one place where you can deepen your knowledge about the region’s indigenous art forms. It also has a great view of the South China Sea.
  • Wright Park
    This park features a long rectangular pond called the “Pool of Pines”. It’s a perfect name for this spot as pine trees are lined up perfectly on either side of it and it’s known for its horseback-riding activity.

When is the best time to visit this place?

The cheapest time is during the low season which is from June to November and the best time is during the peak seasons which is in the months of March, April, and May. Months from July to October are the wettest months which may hamper you from getting the best Baguio experience.
