LGUs Declare Class & Work Suspensions in Some Areas Due to Typhoon Egay
WALANG PASOK – Several local government units have declared class and work suspensions due to Typhoon Egay.
On Wednesday (July 26, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration reported that Egay has weakened into a typhoon. It was last spotted over the coastal waters of Aparri, Cagayan.
Egay has maximum sustained winds of 175 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 240 kph. It is moving westward at a speed of 20 kph.
The typhoon has already made landfall over Fuga Island in Aparri, Cagayan before dawn on Wednesday.
PAGASA has also raised various Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals in some areas due to the effects of Typhoon Egay. The weather disturbance is expected to bring cloudy to rainy conditions over most parts of the country.
Several local government units have announced class and work suspensions due to the inclement weather conditions brought by Typhoon Egay.

- Amadeo, Cavite – (Primary and Secondary Levels Only – Public and Private)
WORK SUSPENSIONS
- Cagayan province – Public and Private Offices
- Calasiao, Pangasinan – Government institutions
- Dagupan, Pangasinan – Government institutions
- Pozorrubio, Pangasinan – Government institutions
- San Carlos, Pangasinan – Government institutions
- Echague, Isabela – Public and Private Offices
- Ilocos Sur – Government institutions
- Kalinga – Government institutions
- La Union – Government institutions
- Rizal, Occidental Mindoro – Public and Private Offices
- Santiago, Isabela – Public and Private Offices
The National Learning Camp for Grade 7 and 8, as well as the Reading Camp for Day Care to Grade 3 (Summer Classes) in the town of Talavera, Nueva Ecija, is also suspended.
In Libertad, Antique, all learning camps and school activities are also suspended.
