PAGASA Release Latest Update on Super Typhoon Egay
The state weather bureau PAGASA raised signal no. 4 in a portion of mainland Cagayan due to Super Typhoon Egay.
On Tuesday noon (July 25, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration reported that Egay has become a super typhoon with maximum sustained winds of 185 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 230 kph.
Ebay is moving northwestward at 15 kph and expected to move northwestward in the next 12 hours. It is expected to make landfall or pass very close to Babuyan Islands-northeastern mainland Cagayan.
The super typhoon may cause possible flooding and rain-induced landslides in hazard-prone areas. Within the next three days, the weather disturbance will bring occasional monsoon rains over the western portions of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Visayas.
The coastal water condition over most parts of the country will be roug to very rough. Western, northern and eastern seaboards of Mindanao will have moderate to rough surrounding sea conditions.
