Vice Ganda Will Not Join MMFF 2023, Here’s The Reason Why

MMFF 2023 without Vice Ganda? This is the reason according to Ogie Diaz.

VICE GANDA – Kapamilya superstar Vice Ganda will not join this year’s MMFF and Ogie Diaz shares the reason why behind this.

Watching Metro Manila Film Festival movies is a yuletide tradition of many Filipinos. This is a film festival where local films are showcased and celebrated during the Christmas season.

And one of the familiar faces during this event this time of the year is Vice Ganda.

The Kapamilya superstar‘s movies were always a hit and most of his MMFF films earned the highest earnings. Among his successful MMFF films were The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin, The Revenger Squad, The Mall The Merrier, Fantastica, Sisterakas, and Partners In Crime, which was the most recent one.

This year’s film festival, the first four official entries have already been announced and none of the four included a film from the comedian. The other four will be selected from finished film submissions and it’s uncertain yet if he will have a movie.

But in the recent video of Ogie Diaz, he revealed that Vice will be skipping this year’s festival. He was able to talk to his “dating alaga” regarding the matter and the Showtime hosts accordingly expressed that he wants a different thing.

He won’t be having an entry this year because he wants a movie with a November playdate just like for his film The Super Parental Guardian which earned massive success in 2016.

Diaz claimed, “Intayin natin baka may changes pa rin naman yan. Dahil ang mga nakuha ngayon ang mga script pa lang. Di natin alam baka hiritan din siya ng film fest.”

In the same video, Diaz and his company also discussed about Vic Sotto’s absence in this year’s MMFF. As much as we all know, Sotto’s film is also among the films people are looking forward to during MMFF.
