HERLENE BUDOL – In a reply to a netizen, Herlene Budol explains why she was wearing a straight face while being crowned.

Miss Grand Philippines 2023 winner is Nikki de Moura, a Filipino-Brazilian beauty from Cagayan de Oro. The coronation night was held at the Mall of Asia Arena and the other winners of the pageant were:

Quezon City’s Michelle Arceo – Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas
Angono’s Herlene Budol – Miss Philippines Tourism
Tarlac’s Francine Reyes – Miss Eco Teen Philippines

The actress-comedian was crowned Miss Philippines Tourism 2023 and she will be representing the country in the international pageant. Despite not getting the top crown, she is happy with her win.

She promised to work hard in the international competition to win the crown for the Philippines in this particular pageant. She will also be bringing an interpreter just like what she did in the national competition.

While she was happy and all, many people noticed the face she did when was announced as Miss Philippines Tourism 2023. She was wearing a straight, bland face – no emotions at all. Even a little smile is also absent.

A Facebook user has posted a photo of this moment and captioned her post, “Bakit malungkot ang beshie ko?”

In a reply, Herlene expressed, “Kase sinayang ni angkol kaya Sa ms tourism tayo tatambling ng bongga.”

This post drew mixed reactions from netizens. Others expressed support for Budol while others reminded her to be grateful for winning a title. To recall, her performance made headlines because of her playful and comedic approach.

It drew the ire of pageant enthusiasts but she immediately apologized and clarified that she is taking the competition seriously.
