Nikki De Moura of Cagayan de Oro City is Miss Grand Philippines 2023 and Herlene Budol has this to say about not getting the top crown.
HERLENER BUDOL – In a post after the Miss Grand Philippines 2023 competition, Herlene Budol makes a comment about not winning the top crown.
Filipino-Brazilian Nikki de Moura of Cagayan de Oro is the first-ever winner of the Miss Grand Philippines pageant. She bested out 29 other competitors. The coronation night was held at the Mall of Asia Arena and this event was graced by reigning Miss Grand International, Brazil’s Isabella Menin.
Miss Grand International beauties that represented the country before were Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2016 Nicole Cordoves and Samantha Bernardo in 2020. Both finished as first runners-up.
The other contestants who won a title were:
- Quezon City’s Michelle Arceo – Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas
- Angono’s Herlene Budol – Miss Philippines Tourism
- Tarlac’s Francine Reyes – Miss Eco Teen Philippines
Despite not winning the crown, Budol, also known as Hipon Girl, remained happy and grateful for the result of the competition. She is proud despite not getting the top place. She looked to everything she went through just to officially be a part of the competition and expressed that it was not an easy journey.
“Bonus din yung maka pasok at kasama ka sa bilang ng SEMI FINALIST lalo na sa estado ko na isang simpleng Hipon girl at laking squatter na indi marunong mag ingles. Binibining Pilipinas 2022 1st runner up at ngayon tinanghal ako ng MISS PHILIPPINES TOURISM 2023 ay isang malaking karangalan at achievement para sa akin,” she wrote.
She vowed to do well in the international competition which is set to happen this November in London. This is a new challenge and journey for her but she will work hard to get the crown for the Philippines.
Apart from being the Miss Philippines Tourism 2023, she also won these special awards:
- Best in Runway
- Miss Ever Bilena
- Miss Arena Plus
- Miss Mermaid Manila Hair
- Miss Blue Water Day Spa
