A man has shared a touching story of how random act of kindness make a significant impact in a street kid’s life.
A touching post shared by netizen Jeric has captured the hearts of many as he recounted the story of reaching out to a child he had previously helped, who then invited him to attend their graduation ceremony.
Jeric shared how, while scrolling through his messenger, he came across a message request from a child he used to assist during his college days at the University of Santo Tomas (UST). He recalled how this child, instead of begging for money, would simply wander around the vicinity.
As time went on, Jeric and his friends formed a bond with the child. They would include him in their food purchases and, whenever they had extra money, they would generously share it with him.
In return, the child would sometimes help watch over their belongings while they worked on their school assignments at a coffee shop. Despite facing family issues, the child remained dedicated to their studies and excelled as a scholar student.
Unfortunately, Jeric discovered the child’s message late, and at that time, he was already in another country, unable to attend the child’s graduation ceremony.
This realization saddened him deeply, knowing that he could have found a way to be present if he had read the message earlier. Nevertheless, Jeric remains inspired by the child’s determination and focuses on their pursuit of finding employment as their current motivation.
“Nalungkot ako na malaman na wala pala umattend ng graduation niya na special sa kanya. If nabasa ko lang talaga message niya that day, magagawan ko ng way. The biggest motivation nalang na iniisip nya ngayun is makahanap na sya ng work. I love the energy of this kid,” he said.
Jeric concludes his post with a wish that more children, like the one he helped, will be able to complete their education.
