This was the case for a Pinoy artist Nhikko Cuevas, who found an innovative way to celebrate his special day. He is an artist who gained popularity on social media for his realistic drawings and paintings.
Recently, Cuevas shared a drawing of a cake bar with a burning candle on social media to celebrate his birthday. The drawing received a lot of attention and admiration from his followers.
The artist revealed that he started drawing cakes on his birthday because of financial constraints. He said that sometimes there was not enough budget to buy a cake, which can cost around P500 or more.
“Tuwing birthday ko po nagd-drawing na lang ako ng cake kasi minsan wala talagang mahanda dahil walang budget at magkano rin ang isang cake 500+ ,” Cuevas said.
The latter also added that the same amount of money can buy several kilos of rice and other food items, which can be used for meals instead.
“Kung ibili na lang ng bigas, ilang kilo din ‘yan at meron pang pang-ulam kaya dino-drawing ko na lang at ‘yun ‘yung pino-post ko,” he added.
Nhikko decided to use his artistic talent to create his own birthday cake, which he could share with his followers on social media. He started drawing cakes with intricate designs, including chocolate drips and icing.
Over the years, he has created several cake drawings, each one more elaborate and realistic than the last.
