Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake in Zambales, July 10, 2023

EARTHQUAKE – The Phivolcs recorded a 3.3 magnitude quake in Zambales, today, Monday, July 10, 2023.

Following the 4.6 magnitude earthquake that hit Sulu a few months ago, another significant quake was recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The quake hit a part of Zambales. According to the agency, it had a magnitude of 3.3.

The earthquake that struck Zambales today, Monday, July 10, 2023, at 04:58 p.m. was tectonic in origin. It specifically hit Masinloc.

According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Zambales was located at 15.55°North, 119.90°East – 006 km North 71° West of Masinloc. It had a depth of focus of 029 kilometers.

Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake but there may be aftershocks. According to the quake-recording agency, no intensity was felt at the epicenter of the quake as well as the nearby areas. No instrumental intensity was recorded as well.
