Paolo Contis Admits Feeling Hurt Being Called "Fake Bulaga"

This is what Paolo Contis said about the hurtful words they receive as Eat Bulaga hosts.

PAOLO CONTIS – In an interview with Ogie Diaz, comedian-host Paolo Contis shared that he was hurt when people call them “Fake Bulaga”.

Eat Bulaga as an institution was previously hosted by the three pillars of the noontime show – the TVJ. However, because of some issues with the new owner of the production company producing the GMA noontime show, TVJ left and built a new program in their new home which is TV5.

The old hosts were replaced by the new ones and the rookies were immensely bashed online.

The new EB hosts were criticized and some people even called them the “Fake Bulaga”. And these two words have hurt Paolo Contis, one of the new EB hosts. He got hurt because he is aware of the effort and love his co-hosts are putting in for the show just to make it work.

In an interview with Ogie Diaz, he shared that he has seen the other hosts’ passion for working in EB. He has seen their sacrifices and he is not blind to their hard work. Even himself, he loves the show and he would give everything to make it work.

He can juggle his work commitments and is willing to do it. He is actually thankful to the production company for giving him this opportunity as he has seen this as a window of opportunity to be better.

The actor-host also added that there’s nothing fake in what they do. If that’s how it is with other people, for them, it’s not. What they do is not fake.

He expressed, “Anong fake dun sa ginagawa namin? Naiintinpdihan ko na may issue sa title but it’s not for us to decide. Pero kung ano yung ginagawa namin, walang peke about it. Walang peke dun sa pagmamahal namin sa show.”

They may not be the originals but this doesn’t they are fake. He believes that they are new and rookies but not fake.
