Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Catanduanes, July 7, 2023
EARTHQUAKE TODAY – The Phivolcs recorded a 3.7 magnitude quake in Pandan, Catanduanes today, Friday, July 7, 2023.
Following the 7.3 magnitude earthquake that jolted a part of Davao Occidental a few weeks ago, another strong quake was recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The quake hit a part of Catanduanes. According to the agency, it had a magnitude of 3.7.
The earthquake that struck Catanduanes, today, Friday, July 7, 2023, at 07:40 a.m. was tectonic in origin. It specifically hit Pandan.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Catanduanes was located at 15.19°North, 124.60°East – 135 km North 20° East of Pandan. It had a depth of focus of 021 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. According to the quake-recording bureau, no intensity as well as instrumental intensity was recorded at the epicenter of the quake as well as the nearby areas.
