Police Authorities Arrest 5 Individuals for Illegal Gambling in Cainta, Rizal
Five individuals have been apprehended by the police for their involvement in illegal gambling activities known as “pusoy” in Cainta, Rizal.
At around 6:30 PM on Monday, the police received a call reporting loud noise coming from a group engaged in gambling in Barangay San Andres, Cainta, Rizal.
The police conducted surveillance operations to confirm the presence of illegal gambling in the area, and upon verification, they arrested the five individuals involved. Two individuals managed to escape and are currently being pursued by the police.
According to Police Major Alfonso Saligumba III, the chief of Cainta Police Station, the narrow roads in the area posed a challenge for the police in apprehending the suspects.
Recovered from the scene were playing cards and an estimated amount of 800 pesos believed to have been used for gambling.
The five arrested individuals are currently detained at the Cainta Police Station and will face charges for violating Presidential Decree 1602, also known as the Anti-Illegal Gambling Law.
