Thief Who Tries to Apply for Police Clearance Arrested in Cavite
Police authorities arrested a man who was discovered to be a thief after allegedly trying to apply for police clearance in Cavite.
A man seeking police clearance was detained inside the Naic police station in Cavite. Instead of receiving a National Police Clearance, the man was issued an Alias Order of Arrest.
According to the report, the arrested person was identified as Elmer Gaurana, an adult, with a charge of theft. Guarana went to the police station at 1:30 p.m. to seek for police clearance based on the Naic Police inquiry.
The theft case against him emerged in the PNP e-Warrant System as it was being processed. After several hours of waiting, Police Staff Sergeant Emmemrio Senorin of the Warrant Section issued an Alias Order of Arrest rather than a Police Clearance.
The arrest warrant was issued by Hon Maria Rowena M Arevalo, Presiding Judge of MTCC, Dasmarias City, Cavite, according to the report. The court recommended P10,000 for his temporary release.
A police clearance or certificate is an official document produced as a result of a background check conducted by a country’s police or government agency to identify any criminal history that the applicant may have. Arrest, conviction, and perhaps criminal processes may be included in a criminal record.
