Female Judge to Face Charges for Preventing BF to be Jailed – PNP

PNP to File Cases vs Female Judge for Preventing Accused BF from Being Jailed

The Philippine National Police (PNP) will file cases against a female judge for allegedly intervening to prevent her boyfriend from being jailed.

The PNP will bring an obstruction of justice prosecution against a female judge who intervened to keep her accused boyfriend out of prison. Her partner was recently arrested at a checkpoint in Calamba City, Laguna, for illegally possessing firearms and impersonating a police officer.

According to Laguna Provincial Police Office (PPO) Director Randy Glenn Silvio, they will file a case with the judge for obstruction of justice since he allegedly obstructed the case so that the suspect, Arnold Mayo of Tondo, Manila, would not be imprisoned.

On the night of June 18, Mayo was arrested at a checkpoint in Calamba City after presenting phony licenses for the two cal.45 pistols he was carrying. According to the article, he also described himself as a former police officer who was fired in 2012.

Silvio stated that it was unusual for a respected judge to interfere in a case that did not involve a suspect. The judge allegedly arrived at the precinct a few hours after Mayo’s arrest and ordered the police to remove the first handcuff.

Because of his alleged interference, the inquest on Mayo was delayed, and the 36-hour reglementary time was overrun, resulting in his release. As a result, he stated that they will also file a report with the Supreme Court to address the judge’s erroneous intervention in Mayo’s arrest.

Mayo also presented officers at the checkpoint with faked PNP IDs in addition to fraudulent firearms licenses. Mayo is a former police officer who was fired in 2012 after an antique bomb exploded, killing two officers and injuring others, including Mayo. Mayo’s group’s shoddy process resulted in the bomb going off.
