This is what Melai Cantiveros said about dealing with problems in marriage with Jason Francisco.
MELAI CANTIVEROS – In an interview, Melai Cantiveros opened up about her marriage and the relationship dealbreakers for her.
In a previous article, Magandang Buhay host Melai Cantiveros and her husband comedian-actor Jason Francisco have faced split rumors. This is after many people online noticed that Melai has been posting photos with him for quite a long time.
He is absent in many posts she shared online.
But in an interview with Ogie Diaz, she clarified that she and Jason are still together. They have not broken up but in terms of not posting him on social media, she said this, “Minsan, kapag galit ka naman, mapo-post mo ba yung asawa mo kapag galit ka?”
In a new interview, Melai opened up about the problems they encounter as a couple. According to her, these problems are just normal but what matters most is that they fix it as partners for the sake of their children.
She said that being married is a whole lot of a different thing. They are not boyfriend-girlfriend anymore to choose to end the relationship once they get tired of it because there are children involved already.
“Mag-asawa naman kami. Hindi naman kami magdyowa lang. Kung maghiwalay naman kami, bakit naman di namin sasabihin, di ba? At saka, kung magdyowa kayo, mag-away kayo, baka puwede pa kayo maghiwalay. Ang mag-asawa, malayo pa yan sa usapan. Kasi bakit? Dadaan pa kayo sa maraming mga annulment, mga ganon, mga case,” she said.
And one of the things she learned about marriage is to get past the problems they have surpassed immediately. She expressed that there’s no point in clinging to solved problems.
Her mantra: “Kalimutan na lang yung mga pagsubok na yun, napagtagumpayan naman na, move on.”
She values the sanctity of marriage but she has limitations. She has boundaries and her deal-breakers in a relationship is cheating. She added based on a report from PEP, “Kung mga ugali lang, kaya pa yan. Kaya pa yan. Pero pag mga ibang usapan na yan, well, nasa couple na yun kung kakayanin nila.”
