Bela Padilla had the chance to meet Song Joong-ki
Actress-director Bela Padilla shared the story behind her photo with South Korean star Song Joong-ki that went viral.
Bela is one of the most sought-after leading ladies in the Philippine entertainment industry. Aside from her acting caliber, she is also admired as a director and writer.
Although she is a popular actress and she has a lot of fans, Bela still has her fangirling moments once in a while.
Back in May, Bela Padilla caught the attention of many netizens, as well as her fellow celebrities, especially K-drama fans.
It is because of her photo with Song Joong-ki who is very popular in the Philippines as well. The photo was taken during the 76th Cannes Film Festival in France. To recall, the actress shared that she was thankful to director Adolf Alix Jr. who first saw the K-drama star.
In a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, Bela shared that she did not tell Joong-ki that she is an actress. “I didn’t say na actress ako. Sabi ko filmmaker ako kasi naman yung hitsura ko, naka-swimsuit ako. Basa yung dress ako. [Baka sabihin niya], ‘Sure ka bang actress ka?'” she said.
Bela just came from swimming when she took a selfie with the actor. She shared that she was not wearing glasses and her vision wasn’t that clear, and so she did not notice that the actor was passing them.
“Galing ako ng beach. As in yung picture ko, bagong ahon sa dagat, like nag-swimming ako, naka-swimsuit ako sa loob. And then Direk Adolf just pointed it out, ‘Di ba, fan ka ng Descendants of the Sun? Ayan si Song Joong-ki,'” the actress enthused.
When Bela looked at the director pointed by Direk Adolf, she indeed saw the actor. “He’s so chill, like, he didn’t have a whole team with him. He was really there as a filmmaker so I appreciate it,” the actress added.
Then, Bela approached Joong-ki. She told him that she is also a filmmaker and that she loved her series Vincenzo. The actress also shared that it was the latest series that she watched and even her boyfriend Norman Ben Bay also watched it with her because the first scene was taken in Italy. They had a chitchat and Bela said that the actor is so kind.
