Police Arrests 2 Suspects in Convenience Store Robbery
ROBBERY INCIDENT – The police authorities arrested two suspects in a convenience store robbery in Cainta, Rizal.
In a commendable display of swift action, authorities have apprehended two individuals allegedly involved in a daring robbery at a convenience store in Cainta, Rizal. The incident, captured on CCTV footage, showcases the brazenness and audacity of the suspects.
However, through the coordinated efforts of law enforcement agencies, these criminals were brought to justice.
On May 27, 2023, in the early hours of the morning, a group of men stormed a convenience store in Cainta. At approximately 3 am, they entered the store and approached the two employees on duty.
While some of the assailants gathered merchandise and kept an eye on one employee, others assaulted and coerced the other employee into opening the cash box near the counter.
When their attempts to open the cash box proved unsuccessful, they took the employee to a corner and proceeded to steal additional items before making their escape. The criminals managed to flee with approximately P2,000 in stolen cash.
Following the incident, concerned residents of Barangay San Andres alerted the authorities to the suspicious activities of a 22-year-old man seen carrying a firearm on May 31. Upon arrival, the police discovered the suspect attempting to flee but managed to apprehend him.
During the arrest, a .38 caliber revolver was confiscated from the suspect. It was during this encounter that the police noticed a distinctive tattoo on his body, which matched one of the individuals captured on the convenience store’s CCTV footage.
Under questioning by the police, the suspect confessed his involvement in the robbery and revealed that they had targeted other establishments as well.
