2 Senior Citizens in Pangasinan Went Viral for Taking Shelter of Over 60 Fur Babies
Two senior citizens from Pangasinan goes viral and touched the hearts of netizens as they care for over 60 dogs.
The home of senior partners Azadi Oblongata, 67, and Sony Costiniano, 72, from Pangasinan, is filled with an abundance of “unconditional love” as they care for not just one or two dogs, but over 60 furry babies.
Their journey began in 2013, and what started with three puppies has multiplied over the years due to their deep affection for these animals. Their fur babies include Shih Tzus, Maltese, Morkies, and Tibetan Spaniels.
Oblongata expressed how the presence of their dogs has brought immense joy to their lives. As senior citizens and partners, the dogs serve as proxy babies for them, especially since their own children are currently residing abroad.
“Dalawa lang po kami ng partner ko [sa bahay], mga senior citizen na po kami, kaya kailangan namin ang maraming kasama para hindi maging sad ang life namin,” Oblongata shared.
With such a large number of fur babies, occasional squabbles among them are unavoidable. However, it doesn’t pose a significant problem for Oblongata and Costiniano, as they can easily reprimand the dogs and prevent conflicts from escalating into fights.
Just like human parents, one of the most challenging aspects of being fur parents is when their beloved dogs fall ill. Oblongata described the heart-wrenching feeling of helplessness when their pets are unwell.
They prioritize hygiene and their pets’ health, ensuring they take extra care of their furry companions.
While taking care of numerous dogs is no easy task, Oblongata stated that they willingly take on the responsibility because the happiness and fulfillment they receive from their fur babies outweigh any difficulties.
The dogs exhibit tremendous kindness and an overflowing sweetness that brings them immeasurable joy.
