Piolo Pascual shared a story about his past aspiration
A-list actor Piolo Pascual shared in a recent interview that he aspired before to be a priest and then, a pastor.
Piolo is one of the most sought-after leading men of his generation. He has shown his acting caliber so many times already. The actor has done critically-acclaimed projects that highlighted his star status.
Although he fits perfectly in the entertainment industry, Piolo also thought of going on a different path and not in showbiz.
Based on the article in Pang-Masa, Piolo Pascual shared that he had the chance to talk to a priest. He thought of becoming a priest when he was 18 years old. “I attended the seminar,” he said.
Then, he shared that conversation he had with a priest. “I remember, I had a conversation with a priest and I told him, gusto ko sanang mag-pari na lang para mas madali ang buhay. And then he said, ‘you have to be a college graduate,’” the A-list actor shared.
When he became a Christian, Piolo admitted that he also tried to be a pastor. “I told my pastor the same thing, “pwede bang mag-pastor na lang ako para mas madali rin ang buhay.’ Sabi niya, ‘no, we need people like you in the business,’” the actor said. He realized that probably this is not his destiny.
Meanwhile, Piolo Pascual is set to portray the character of Fr. Severino Mallari, a serial killer priest in 1840 who killed 59 people in Pampanga. This is the first movie about the said priest and Piolo will play three characters in this as the story revolves around three generations.
When asked about his previous statement about his choice not to accept teleserye projects, the actor said with a smile, “Bukas may pitching ako ng soap, so magso-soap pa ako.” Prior to this, he did the series Flower of Evil with Lovi Poe and Paulo Avelino.
Piolo admitted that he is still not sure about quitting the teleserye projects because it gives him a certain kind of happiness.
