This is what Andrea Brillantes said to people who still think that she is the child from many years ago.
ANDREA BRILANTES – Kapamilya actress Andrea Brillantes says she is embracing mature roles and wants to be apart from her child image.
ABS-CBN artist Andrea Brillantes started as a child star in the industry. She is most famous for doing the titular character in Annaliza (2013) and as Marga Bartolome in Kadenang Ginto (2018).
She is currently being hounded by issues regarding her split with basketball player Ricci Rivero. The actress was unbothered by the issues but their split remains a topic on various social media pages.
Away from the issues of her love life, she talked about her career and her latest series called “Drag You & Me”.
According to her, she wanted the people to finally let go of her child star image. She is now 20 years old and she wanted to take mature roles now. She is not getting any younger and she wanted to explore more roles outside of her comfort zone.
She said, “Sana maiwan na nila ’yung image ko na ako lang ’yung 12-year old, 10-year old na ’yun — na hindi ako puwedeng mag-explore sa mga ganitong roles.”
The young actress also stressed an individual’s growth and individuality. Freedom is important and everybody deserves it. And taking her freedom seriously, her first step in embracing these changes is doing the Betty/Valentine Royale role in “Drag You & Me”.
And if there’s one thing she learned from her new character, it is to not be “marupok” and give a second chance to those who deserve it based on a report from PEP.
