Isko Moreno and Herlene Budol will Be Included in the New Hosts of Eat Bulaga
Former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso and beauty queen-comedienne Herlene “Hipon” Budol will join the new hosts of Eat Bulaga.
Daddie Wowie, the manager of former Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso, confirmed the actor-politician’s appearance on Eat Bulaga on Facebook. Yorme Isko will appear on the longest-running noontime show this Saturday, June 10, 2023, according to the post.
Apart from Moreno, Herlene Budol, widely known as ‘Hipon Girl,’ is said to be one of the new hosts of the contentious noontime show. Television and Production Exponents Inc (TAPE) is yet to clarify if the two will become permanent hosts of the show and successors for the previous host of Eat Bulaga, who left on May 31, 2023, as of this writing.
The renamed version of Eat Bulaga is presently hosted by Paolo Contis, Betong Sumaya, and Buboy Villar, who is now referred to as ‘BuLoTong’ as a counterpoint to the famed TVJ trio of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon.
Despite TAPE’s issues, the noontime show remained number one in noontime show ratings this week. However, the ratings rivalry may alter if the former Eat Bulaga hosts who transferred to TV5 finally start their new show that would compete with the Kapuso program.
Joey, famed for his wordplay, invented the title of the longest-running noontime show, while Vic Sotto wrote the iconic theme tune. However, the title of the show is still being debated as to who owns the rights to utilize it.
TAPE Inc claims to have the trademark, but TVJ claims to have the copyright. Joey de Leon recently stated in an interview that content is more essential than the show’s title.
