Joey de Leon played with words again
Henyo Master Joey de Leon shared new lyrics for Eat Bulaga theme song after it was confirmed that they are now partnering with TV5.
Joey is known for his play of words and this is one of the reasons why he is called Henyo Master. He is known as the one who created the title of the longest-running noontime show while it was Vic Sotto who did the famous theme song.
However, the title of the show is still under discussion if who has the right to use it. TAPE Inc. claims that it has the trademark while TVJ is insisting that they have the copyright.
In a recent interview, Joey de Leon stressed that content is more important than the title of the show. He had this answer when asked if they will use the Eat Bulaga title for their show on TV5 when the Kapuso noontime show is using it as well.
On the other hand, the Henyo Master stressed that the Kapuso noontime show, cannot use the theme song.
In a recent Instagram post, the veteran comedian-host, featured new lyrics for the theme song of Eat Bulaga.
“Mula sa nueve, sa dos at siyete, ngayon sa singko, to make history. Buo, siyam na presidente, ‘pag Bulaga ay nag-fifty. Okay?” Joey sang.
To recall, the longest-running noontime show started on RPN 9. Then, it transferred to ABS-CBN channel 2. Eventually, the show signed a contract with GMA-7. In July, they are expected to air their new show on TV5.
After 44 years of airing, the show has witnessed the leadership of several presidents. When it reached its 50th year anniversary, it will witness the 9th president since 1979.
