Lady Traffic Enforcer Heroically Assists Pedestrian, Struck By Suv
In a shocking incident that took place on Friday morning, June 9, a lady traffic enforcer was tragically hit by a sports utility vehicle (SUV) while she was assisting a pedestrian in crossing the street.
The accident occurred in Barangay Bulacao, Cebu City, leaving both the enforcer and the pedestrian injured.
The traffic enforcer, identified as Angela Jayme Garcia, is a 50-year-old woman who bravely took on the responsibility of ensuring the safety of pedestrians and vehicles on the road. The pedestrian involved in the accident was identified as Emily Polidario, a 63-year-old individual who was simply attempting to cross the street.
According to Police Staff Sergeant Alfredo Macabudbud, the traffic investigator assigned to the case, the driver of the SUV reportedly failed to notice the two individuals crossing the pedestrian lane.
The driver claimed to have been momentarily blinded by the intense morning sun as he approached the area where the accident occurred. This temporary loss of visibility unfortunately resulted in the collision.
Following the accident, both the traffic enforcer and the pedestrian were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for immediate medical attention. The extent of their injuries has yet to be disclosed, but it is hoped that they will receive the necessary treatment and recover fully from the incident.
