Karla Estrada Issues Apology to PH Army for Using the Anthem of NPA
Actress-TV host Karla Estrada apologized to the Philippine Army for allegedly using the anthem of the rebel group New People’s Army (NPA).
On Facebook, the celebrity mom apologized to the public, particularly the Philippine Army, for utilizing an anthem from a rebel group in her video. Karla previously announced her intention to re-train as a reservist in an Instagram Story video.
“Magandang Araw po sa inyong lahat. Ang mensahe ko pong ito ay patungkol sa musikang nakalapat sa isa sa aking video reel na ipinost ko sa aking social media accounts tungkol sa aking intensyon na maging isang Philippine Army Reservist,” said Karla in a Facebook post.
“Ako po ay hindi aware na ang nasabing musika na nailapat sa aking video reel ay isa palang awitin na tumutukoy sa isang grupo na may paniniwalang salungat sa pamahalaan,” she added.
She honestly apologized and stated that it was not his goal to include the aforementioned song in her video. She also stated that she is unaware that the song’s message refers to the NPA.
“Ako po ay taos pusong humihingi ng paumanhin sa Philippine Army at sa lahat ng taong nasaktan o naapektuhan ng nasabing video reel. Hindi ko po sinadya o intensyon na ilapat sa aking video ang nasabing musika at wala din po sa aking kamalayan kung ano ang kinakatawan o mensaheng nilalaman nito,” she said.
“Ang Bagong Hukbong Bayan,” also known as “Anthem of the New People’s Army,” is a song from the 1976 album “Philippines Bangon!” Karla stated that her purpose in enlisting as a reserve is to “serve every Filipino and the Philippines to the best of my ability.”

Hindi ko po sinadya o intensyon na ilapat sa aking video ang nasabing musika at wala din po sa aking kamalayan kung ano ang kinakatawan o mensaheng nilalaman nito,” she said in her post.
