R’ Bonney Gabriel Proudly Waves Philippine Flag From Her Miss Universe Float

R’BONNEY GABRIEL – Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel recently took part in the Philippines’ Independence Day parade organized in the US.

On January 14, 2023, 84 women from all over the world competed in New Orleans, Louisiana for the title of Miss Universe 2022. American fashion designer, model, and beauty queen R’Bonney Gabriel was the first Fil-Am to be crowned Miss Universe.

The 28-year-old beauty queen is of American and Filipino descent. Remigio Bonzon Gabriel, R’Bonney’s father, was born in the Philippines and immigrated to Washington when he was 25 years old. Dana Walker, R’Bonney’s mother, is from Texas. R’Bonney declared that she has always been proud of her mixed ancestry.

When R’Bonney Gabriel was named Miss Universe 2022, she acknowledged her Filipino supporters. She spoke of the lovely traits of Filipinos and expressed her pride in being half-Filipina.

In a previous article, R’Bonney there was a time when she had an “identity crisis” for being Fil-Am. She recently visited the country to attend the MUPH 2023 pageant.

R’Bonney Gabriel recently graced the New York City parade honoring Philippine Independence Day. She waved the Philippine flag from her own float as she joined her fellow Filipinos in the festivities. She donned an enormous modern Filipiniana top paired with black high-waisted pants.

“Honoring Philippine Independence Day, my father’s home country, and the spirit of Filipinos,” she said in an IG post.

She continued, “Every time Filipinos get together, it’s a party,” and thanked the Philippine Independence Day Council Inc. for bringing her to the “largest gathering of Filipinos in America.”

The biggest Philippine Independence Day parade held outside of the Philippines is held in New York City. The walk down Madison Avenue takes place on the first Sunday of June each year.

The MassKara Festival Performers from Bacolod City participated in the Philippine Independence Day Parade, which was held for the 33rd time this year.
