Julia Barretto Replaces Bea Alonzo As Lead Actress in “Special Memory”
JULIA BARRETTO – Actress-vlogger Julia Barretto has replaced Bea Alonzo in the lead role on the upcoming film “Special Memory” with Alden Richards.
Due to what the actress’ management said is her busy schedule this year, Bea Alonzo will no longer play alongside Alden Richards in the upcoming movie “Special Memory,” the local adaptation of the Korean blockbuster “A Moment to Remember.”
On May 2, Bea’s management issued a statement to “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” in which it stated, “In the spirit of fairness, we deemed it appropriate to advise the producers of ‘Special Memory,’ a movie adaptation of ‘A Moment to Remember,’ that Ms. Bea Alonzo had to respectfully beg off from this movie project due to her full schedule this year.”
According to Boy Abunda, Bea Alonzo and her management made the decision to withdraw from the project because Bea did not want to keep the cast waiting while she worked on her other projects.
The Kapuso star has approved of the recasting decision made by the producers, according to Abunda. Bea and Alden signed their contracts for the film adaptation in March 2021 although discussions about the project were announced as early as December 2020. It was then announced that the GMA stars would start shooting in November 2021.

Vincent del Rosario casually mentioned that Viva Films and GMA Pictures will continue their collab in the movie “Special Memory.” After Bea backed out of the project, it was thought that the project would not continue.
But, Boss Vincent announced during the celebration that reached 7 million subscribers of Vivamax that the movie is still going on and that Julia Barretto will be paired with Alden. If not in July, it is possible that the shooting will be in August under the direction of Nuel Naval.
