Ping Lacson Gives Reaction on Departure of TVJ from TAPE Inc and Eat Bulaga
Former senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson speaks on the recent departure of legendary trio TVJ from TAPE Inc and Eat Bulaga.
The former Senator and presidential candidate expressed his support to his former colleague former Senate President Tito Sotto. This after they announced their departure from Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) Inc due to several issues.
Sotto posted a statement written to him by Lacson in his tweet, suggesting that the Eat Bulaga controversy was TAPE Inc’s loss. Lacson’s message also implied that the original Dabarkads were on their way to the network.
“Thank you Partner. Good luck to EB. Enjoy your new home. You didn’t lose them; they lost you. – Sen Ping Lacson,” said Sotto in his tweet.
Sotto, his brother Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon announced their resignation from TAPE, which produces Eat Bulaga and is controlled by notorious politician Romeo Jalosjos Sr., on May 31, 2023. TAPE Inc. then responded to the renowned trio’s resignation and even took a shot at them, claiming that Eat Bulaga would continue without them.
Sotto recently revealed the cause for their abrupt resignation from Eat Bulaga and TAPE Inc in an interview, expressing his discontent with TAPE Inc chairman Romeo Jalosjos. In an interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal, Sotto stated that they do not intend to resign, but Jalosjos’ decision to deny them permission to air compelled them to do so.
