Here’s Dolly de Leon’s Reaction To Liza Soberano’s Controversial ‘Love Team’ Remark
DOLLY DE LEON – Veteran actress Dolly de Leon reacted to the controversial remark of Liza Soberano.
Dolly de Leon drew in a global audience with the help of the movie Triangle of Sadness. Because of her stint in that Hollywood movie, she had the opportunity to go to prestigious movie award ceremonies.
She will co-star with Kathryn Bernardo in the upcoming movie “A Very Good Girl,” and with Khalil Ramos and Maris Racal in the Antoinette Jadaone-directed film “Simula sa Gitna.” The actress is slated to feature in many Hollywood movies, however, specifics have not yet been released. She was also cast in an unnamed television series in Germany.
Dolly de Leon was recently interviewed by broadcast journalist Julius Babao. the video was uploaded on his YouTube channel last Tuesday, May 23.
During the interview, the prominent actress was asked about Liza Soberano’s controversial “love team” remark back in April. In a “Get Real” podcast interview, Liza asserted that joining a love team is the “only way” for aspiring celebrities to gain fame in the local entertainment industry.

Dolly de Leon acknowledged that the love team culture still has relevance in local show business, but she also stated that Liza Soberano should be allowed to “speak her truth.” She said that Liza has the right to talk about her experiences working as an actor in the Philippines because she was a part of one-half of the well-known LizQuen duo with on-and-off-screen partner Enrique Gil.
“Love teams are still okay, but it depends on the actor. Kung hindi mo type mag-love team, don’t attach yourself to a love team,” Dolly said
“But there’s still value to it kasi may mga taong makaka-relate sa mga storya ng young love kasi a large part of our population is composed of young people. So, they want to see a reflection of themselves. But it also matters when we tell other stories [to] make sure that everyone is represented. Kaya hindi rin ako pabor na mawala siya. If some people think it won’t be good for them, then don’t do it. But for other people, it works,” she added.
Despite acknowledging the value of love teams, Dolly de Leon emphasized that Liza Soberano deserves a setting where she can “speak her truth.” She said that Liza should be respected for speaking her mind because of how young she was when she first started in show business.
