Miss Universe Philippines 2023 “Technical Issue” Explained

Here’s the explanation of why the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 pageant faced some problems.

MISS UNIVERSE PHILIPPINES 2023 – The “technical issue” during the pageant ignited some speculations and here’s an explanation about it.

During the actual pageant of Miss Universe Philippines 2023, certain ‘technical issues’ happened. This has prompted to bring back the Top 18 candidates to participate in the evening gown portion even though the top 10 finalists have already been announced.

Host Xian Lim announced this which surprised the audience as it was done minutes after the announcement of Top 10. This also sparked the “cooking show” speculations.

Makati City’s Michelle Marquez Dee, Bohol’s Pauline Amelinckx, Davao Oriental’s Klyza Ferrando Castro, Baguio’s Krishnah Marie Gravidez, Zambales’ Christine Opiaza, Bacolod’s Jan Marie Bordon, Agusan del Norte’s Jannarie Zarzoso, Sorsogon’ Rein Hillary Carrascal, Eastern Samar’s Airissh Ramos and Cavite’s Samantha Panlilio were the Top 10.

And now, four days after this happened, an explanation has been released.

According to a report from PEP, the slow internet connection was the reason. This incident also forced the auditing firm of the pageant to switch to the manual tallying system.

To recall, after the Top 18 returned for the evening gown competition, the pageant went on to announce the top 5. And Michelle Dee is the winner this year. She was crowned by MUPH 2022 Celeste Cortesi.

She was criticized by people alleging that she has something to do with the unfortunate incident. However, the bashing did not affect her. She will be representing the country in the competition that will be held in El Salvador.

The other winners of the MUPH 2023 are:

  • Miss Supranational Philippines 2023 – Pauline Amelinckx
  • Miss Charm Philippines 2023 – Krishnah Marie Gravidez
  • 1st Runner-Up – Christine Juliane Opiaza
  • 2nd Runner-Up – Mary Angelique Manto
