According to the interview, the victim and his family were in a Nissan Navara pick-up from Zamboanga del Sur and were headed to the city for a family reunion. The suspects opened fire on them as they approached Salamat Street.
They were, however, fortunate that the suspects’ guns did not fire. The event was promptly reported to PS1 by a concerned resident. The police responded quickly to the location of the event, commanded by PMAJ BRAVO, and initiated a vigorous pursuit operation against the two gunmen.
Even before they went down, the two suspects began shooting at them, exchanging gunfire and chasing each other. Major Bravo was lucky to be saved during the first volley of gunfire when the crooks’ bullets struck his bulletproof vest.
Maj. verified that the two suspects escaped. Based on the blood trails at the scene, they must have received many bullet wounds. Meanwhile, City Councilor Abdillah Lim complimented the citizens of his ward for swiftly relaying information to the City PNP, which resulted in a prompt response. The suspects are also not from their barangay.
