MICHELLE DEE – Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee’s emotional moments with her mom Melanie Marquez after winning the pageant went viral on social media.
Makati’s bet Michelle Dee has been named the new Miss Universe Philippines. She was crowned by Celeste Cortesi at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City last Saturday, May 13.
She participated in the beauty pageant last year as well, finishing as first runner-up, and she felt that returning this year indicates she had “so much to prove.” She has participated in the MUPH twice. Michelle competed in Miss World 2019 on behalf of the Philippines before joining Miss Universe Philippines.
Just recently, Michelle Dee Beauty said that the fight is just beginning after she won the MUPH 2023 crown. “It’s not done until it’s won,” she declared, stating that this is her mindset going into the pageant.
The Kapuso star added that the journey had not been simple. She said, “each year was full of hard work, sacrifices and risks that I hope pay off at the end.” She said that after winning, it confirmed for her and other Filipinos their conviction that hard work and devotion can lead to success.
Michelle Dee had several emotional moments on stage with her mom former beauty queen and actress Melanie Marquez. A touching video of Melanie hugging her daughter on stage went viral on social media. Melanie won Miss International in 1979.
After the coronation, epic pictures of Michelle and Melanie posing together onstage were uploaded. GMA Network posted a video of Melanie embracing her daughter onstage in order to congratulate her on Instagram.
After the coronation, Michelle and Melanie posed for pictures together onstage, which OPMB Worldwide also posted on Facebook. Many online users noted that Michelle was able to give her mother an awesome and unique Mother’s Day gift through her MUPH win.
